Our Story
Durango Joes Coffee was founded in 2004 by Joe and LeAnna Lloyd, who shared a dream of creating a coffee company that puts people before profits. Rooted in family and tradition, our story is as rich and memorable as the coffee we serve.
The Lloyd family has a deep legacy of service in Durango, Colorado. Joe’s grandfather, Dr. Leo Lloyd, was a beloved family doctor who dedicated over 40 years to serving the Durango community, making house calls day and night. His commitment to people-first service became the foundation of our core values. Joe’s brother, Leo Lloyd III, is known throughout the Four Corners region for his leadership in mountain rescue operations. His courage and dedication to public safety inspired our ATL drink, "Avoid the Lloyd," a reminder to stay sharp and alert while exploring the great outdoors.
Joe himself is a community leader, local charity advocate, and the heart behind Durango Joes. His passion for coffee and people drives our mission of providing legendary coffee with legendary service.

In fact, we proudly contribute over $20,000 annually to causes that matter most to the people we serve. Because for us, being a part of this community means more than just serving coffee—it means showing up, giving back, and making a difference.
